Is Your Pickleball Paddle Broken?

Do you think the speed of the new paddles is good for the game?Examples would be paddles like the Gearbox Pro Power. |
Is Your Pickleball Paddle Broken? Watch This!
If you’re subscribed to a Pickleball newsletter about gear, there’s a VERY high likelihood that you’re more than familiar with core crushing and how to tell whether your paddle needs to be replaced.
However, I have found that there is still a LOT of people who don’t know what it is or how to identify it, so I made a quick PSA video that people can share with their friends to make this more common knowledge.
Gearbox Pro Power Updated Review
If you missed it, I also did an updated review on the Gearbox Pro Power after 3 months of use.
Since the launch of this paddle it has had a number of QC issues and weird break in periods that people aren’t very familiar with it. I spent a lot of time checking out other peoples Gearboxes as well as my own to try and narrow down what is happening.
If you’re considering buying one of these, I recommend watching this video first.
The paddle is still amazing, but there may be things that become a dealbreaker for you if you’re considering it right now.
Upcoming paddles
We talked about it in this weeks podcast, but if you’re considering buying a paddle right now, you should really wait unless you HAVE to get one right now.
There are quite a few paddles coming in April/May that I think people will be eager to try.
One of the public paddles that can be talked about is the PIKKL Skins for their Vantage Pro and Hurricane Pro (Tyra Black’s signature paddle).
It looks like they beat Reload to the market. They’ve each taken slightly different routes in terms of surface material, so I’m very curious to see who comes out on top.
I’m also curious how much weight will be added to the paddle and how that is going to impact swing weight. The concept of replaceable grit is awesome, but I have a feeling there will be several iterations before we land on the “Best” version for Pickleball.
