The Gen 3 Joola’s Are No Longer USAP Approved?!

Quite the bombshell got dropped on the Pickleball world yesterday when USAP decided to remove the Gen 3 Joola’s from the approved list.

This means that as of right now, you will not be able to play in a sanctioned tournament with one of these paddles.

On top of this, UPA (United Pickleball Association, the parent company of the PPA Tour) have decided to announce their own governing body in what appears to be an attempt at overtaking USAP.

Check out the video above for more details, because there’s a lot of information to cover.

What a wild time for paddles…

PaddleTek Bantam Line Review

This week I also posted my review of the new PaddleTek TKO-C, TKO-CX, and ALW-C models.

If you want the short of it, these paddles are really nice. There’s a lot of things that make them very attractive for a lot of players.

Particularly being a gen 1 style paddle with a lot of pop and power. You don’t see that very often. Personally, I found the 12.7mm more exciting, but the 14.3mm is probably a better balance of control and power for most players out there.

The ALW-C will be particularly attractive for women. You have small grip size options, they are very light, swing weight is low, and they pack serious punch.

If you plan to pick one up, you can use code PBSTUDIO to save 10% on the PaddleTek website.

The Upcoming Triple Black Diamond Review

Just as a heads up, if you haven’t already seen the Triple Black Diamond (AKA, the Willinator) being teased on social media, it launches this Sunday at 6PM EST. It will retail for $220, with code PBSTUDIO that should drop to $200.

Six Zero has said this will be a limited edition release and they don’t have plans to bring it back unless there is serious demand for it. How much demand will that take? I’m not sure, but if you were hoping to secure one, I would suggest being ready right on time, because the Ruby’s have sold out in less than 10 minutes several times since launch and I imagine this will be similar.

I will have my review out before the launch, so all of the information will be out to help you make a decision if this is the right paddle for you or not.
